Marousi Train Station – Athens, Greece
Ancon tension bars have been used to support the canopies on the Marousi train station in the northern suburbs of Athens, Greece.
The bars transfer load from the front of the canopies back to the main structure. Canopies are frequently supported from above to provide unobstructed access below. An open layout is particularly important on station platforms and other projects with areas of limited space where large groups of people assemble.
The Ancon system was supplied in stainless steel and comprised 116 bright drawn bars and 232 electro-polished connecting forks and locking nuts. Each bar was 36 millimetres in diameter and six metres in length.
This Tension System was supplied through Ancon’s distributor in Greece, M & A.
